Family caregiver platform Avanlee Care has secured $3.5M in seed funding to expand into the Medicare Advantage market. The platform helps health plans engage caregivers through tools like appointment scheduling, medication management, and caregiver wellness tracking. With nearly 1 in 4 Americans serving as caregivers, Avanlee argues that supporting this overlooked group is key to improving member health outcomes.
Avanlee Care, a digital platform designed to engage family caregivers, has closed a $3.5M seed round led by BEA Venture Fund, bringing its total funding to $6M. The company is setting its sights on Medicare Advantage (MA) plans, arguing that caregivers — who coordinate medications, appointments, and daily needs for their loved ones — are an underutilized lever for improving member health outcomes.
The platform gives caregivers tools to schedule appointments, manage medications, connect with providers, and access wellness resources, while giving payers real-time data on caregiver burnout and member health trends. Avanlee is already integrated with Mark Cuban's Cost Plus Drugs for discounted medications and is in early discussions with a national MA plan for a pilot that could reach thousands of members. A broader rollout is planned for mid-2027. AI features — powered by AWS Bedrock — help reduce caregiver friction through audio note summaries, provider recommendations, and personalized resource matching.
By the Numbers:
Why it matters: Caregivers are a critical but often invisible part of the healthcare system. By formally integrating them into MA plan workflows, Avanlee could improve medication adherence, reduce hospitalizations, and ease caregiver burnout — all while giving health plans a new engagement channel with a population that influences member outcomes daily.
