Hospital AI platform iQueue is going beyond dashboards. LeanTaaS acquired computer vision company LookDeep Health to bring ambient intelligence into hospital rooms — detecting fall risks, patient movement, and care gaps in real time. The goal: turn raw room signals into coordinated action for care teams, not just more alerts.
Healthcare tech company LeanTaaS is taking its iQueue hospital operations platform into new territory with the acquisition of LookDeep Health, a computer vision and virtual care company. The move adds ambient intelligence — AI-powered cameras that watch patient rooms and flag events like a patient trying to stand unassisted or not getting out of bed for hours — directly into iQueue's operational workflows.
Rather than generating more alarms, the system is designed to surface prioritized tasks to a virtual observation team, who can remotely engage patients or escalate to bedside staff as needed. Human clinicians stay in the driver's seat for clinical decisions, while iQueue handles context, triage, and routing.
The new virtual care suite includes three services: virtual observation, virtual nursing (admissions, rounding, discharge prep), and virtual medicine (remote physician access). LeanTaaS plans to roll ambient intelligence across its full product line — from inpatient flow and operating rooms to infusion centers.
By the Numbers:
Why it matters: As hospitals face chronic staffing shortages, ambient AI that monitors patients between encounters — and routes the right information to the right person — could meaningfully reduce adverse events and ease care team burden without adding to clinician workloads.
