Indiana-based Parkview Health is acquiring Ovation Healthcare, a shared services vendor that partners with nearly 500 healthcare organizations nationwide. The deal aims to extend Parkview's administrative and operational expertise to rural providers across the country. Financial terms weren't disclosed, but the deal is expected to close within weeks pending regulatory approval.
Indiana-based nonprofit Parkview Health is making a major move to shore up rural healthcare infrastructure by acquiring Ovation Healthcare, a Tennessee-based shared services company that works with nearly 500 healthcare organizations across the U.S. The deal, expected to close within weeks pending regulatory review, would make Parkview Ovation's sole owner — though Ovation will continue operating as a separate entity with its own governance.
The acquisition is a strategic play to scale Parkview's proven administrative and cost-reduction model to rural providers nationwide. Ovation's suite of services — including managed IT, revenue cycle management, leadership advisory, and auditing — complements Parkview's existing operational depth. Parkview has already trimmed $1.1 billion in commercial reimbursement rates over the past five years and is looking to bring that discipline to a broader audience.
By the Numbers:
Why it matters: Rural hospitals are under mounting financial pressure from macroeconomic headwinds and policy-driven payment cuts. This deal could give hundreds of independent rural providers access to the shared services infrastructure they need to stay afloat — and independent.
