A new platform is flipping the script on healthcare hiring. Clasp has launched a national marketplace where clinicians-in-training can compare job offers side by side — not just by salary, but by how much each employer will pay toward their student loans. With federal loan borrowing limits tightening and financial stress rising among students, the tool aims to reshape how the next generation of clinicians launches their careers.
A new platform is reshaping how healthcare hiring works. Clasp — a loan-linked hiring company founded in 2018 — has launched a national marketplace where clinicians-in-training can browse and compare job opportunities across specialties, locations, salaries, and employer student loan repayment commitments, all in one place. Students can join as early as their first term at no cost, and a built-in loan calculator translates each employer's contribution into a real payoff timeline. Offers on the platform average over $68,000 in loan repayment and reach as high as $180,000.
For employers, the marketplace opens a recruiting pipeline 12–24 months before graduation, with contractual protections built in — employers face penalty fees if they back out of commitments. Clasp reports retention rates more than 2.5x higher than traditional hiring models, a meaningful stat given that primary care physician turnover alone costs the system nearly $1 billion annually.
By the Numbers:
Why it matters: With the federal government slashing student loan borrowing limits and provider groups warning of a workforce pipeline crisis, tools like Clasp's marketplace could become a critical lever for attracting and retaining clinicians — especially in high-need specialties and underserved areas.
