Risant Health, the Kaiser Permanente-backed nonprofit operator, has signed a deal to acquire Integris Health — Oklahoma's largest nonprofit health system. It's Risant's third acquisition since launching in 2023, following Geisinger and Cone Health. Integris, which has been operating at a loss and faces over $130M in projected revenue cuts from Medicaid and Medicare funding reductions, hopes the deal will unlock capital and technology it couldn't access on its own.
Kaiser Permanente's Risant Health is growing its portfolio again, announcing a definitive agreement to acquire Integris Health — Oklahoma's largest nonprofit health system, with 20 hospitals and the state's biggest physician network. The deal, pending regulatory approval, could close in early 2027. Integris will retain its name, leadership, medical staff, and governing boards under the arrangement.
The timing is critical for Integris, which has been operating at a loss for two years and is bracing for more than $130 million in projected revenue losses in 2026 due to Medicare and Medicaid funding cuts. Joining Risant offers a lifeline — access to capital, technology, and proven value-based care infrastructure at scale.
By the Numbers:
Why it matters: This deal reflects a broader consolidation trend in U.S. healthcare, where financially strained nonprofits are turning to larger platforms for stability. Risant's value-based care model could reshape how Oklahomans access and experience care — while signaling that Kaiser's national expansion ambitions are very much alive.
