Oklahoma's biggest nonprofit health system is joining Kaiser Permanente's growing value-based care network. Integris Health has signed a definitive agreement to become the third regional system under Risant Health, following Geisinger and Cone Health. The deal, pending regulatory approval, could close in early 2027 and promises tech investments and care delivery improvements while keeping Integris' brand and leadership intact.
Kaiser Permanente's Risant Health subsidiary is expanding westward, signing a definitive agreement with Integris Health — Oklahoma's largest nonprofit health system — to become its third regional member. The deal, subject to regulatory review, is expected to close in early 2027. Financial terms were not disclosed, but Integris will retain its brand, leadership, governing boards, and medical staff under the arrangement.
Risant Health, launched in early 2023 with a goal of absorbing roughly half a dozen regional systems over five years, aims to shift care from siloed, episodic models to value-based, tech-enabled approaches. Integris brings 13,000 employees, 10 acute and 10 specialty hospitals, and Oklahoma's largest physician network to the table. The partnership promises external investment in technology, clinical tools, and care delivery — resources Integris CEO Timothy Pehrson said the system couldn't build "at this scale and not this fast" on its own.
By the Numbers:
Why it matters: This deal signals continued consolidation in nonprofit healthcare around value-based care platforms, with real-world data from Risant's existing members suggesting measurable operational and clinical gains for systems that join the network.
