AI meets evidence-based medicine at the point of care. Suki has launched "Ask," a new feature embedded in its clinician app that lets doctors query Wolters Kluwer's UpToDate Expert AI API in real time. The tool delivers patient-specific, evidence-backed answers — and clinicians chose personalized insights 83% of the time — available across Epic, Oracle Health, athenahealth, and Meditech EHR systems.
AI meets evidence-based medicine at the point of care
Suki has launched "Ask," a new clinical decision support feature built into its Suki for Clinicians app, powered by Wolters Kluwer's UpToDate Expert AI API. It's the first product integration of the UpToDate Expert AI API, and it allows clinicians to pose complex clinical questions and receive answers grounded in UpToDate's peer-reviewed content — developed and maintained by more than 7,600 physician authors, editors, and reviewers.
What sets Ask apart is its ability to go beyond generic guidelines. By combining real-time conversation context with existing patient chart data through Suki's Ambient Clinical Intelligence (ACI), the tool tailors responses to the specific patient in front of the clinician. Responses include transparent sourcing, medication and dosing considerations, and links to supporting content.
By the Numbers
Why it matters: Clinicians are often working with generalized guidelines that still require manual adaptation to individual patients. Ask bridges that gap by embedding trusted, evidence-based intelligence directly into existing workflows — potentially reducing cognitive load and improving decision-making speed at the point of care.
