Teladoc Health just made its hospital tech smarter. The company launched two new AI tools—SoloVitals and SoloScribe—within its Solo platform, designed to capture contactless vital signs and auto-generate clinical notes without adding new technology burdens. Both tools integrate directly into existing hospital workflows and EHR systems, addressing a growing demand from health systems to adopt AI without added complexity.
Teladoc Health unveiled two new AI-powered capabilities—SoloVitals and SoloScribe—embedded within its enterprise Solo platform, which is already deployed across more than 15,000 care locations globally.
SoloVitals uses remote photoplethysmography (rPPG) to detect subtle facial skin color changes via a patient's existing camera-equipped device, capturing heart and respiration rates without any additional hardware. SoloScribe, meanwhile, is an ambient AI documentation tool that generates structured clinical notes and transfers them directly into electronic health records (EHRs), supporting both in-person and telemedicine visits.
The big pitch? No new tech to buy, install, or manage. Teladoc says health systems have been clear: they want innovation built into tools they already use, not another disconnected point solution.
Key Takeaways:
Why it matters: Health systems are under mounting pressure to expand access and adopt AI responsibly—without piling on operational complexity. By embedding these capabilities into existing workflows, Teladoc is betting that seamless integration, not standalone innovation, is the future of scalable hospital AI.
