Upgrading contact lenses pays off. A CooperVision-backed study found that patients who switched from daily disposable hydrogel lenses to silicone hydrogel (MyDay) lenses reported significantly better comfort and less dryness — even after nearly 7 years with their old lenses. Nearly three-quarters said they'd be interested in buying the new lenses after just 1–2 weeks of wear.
Think you can't improve on something that's been working for years? Think again. A new study from CooperVision found that long-term hydrogel contact lens wearers — averaging nearly 7 years with their current lenses — experienced meaningful improvements in comfort and dryness after switching to MyDay silicone hydrogel lenses for just 1 to 2 weeks. The study included 182 daily disposable hydrogel wearers across 16 U.S. eye care practices.
Patients rated their experience on 10-point scales before and after the switch, and the silicone hydrogel lenses came out ahead across the board — at initial wear, throughout the day, and especially by end of day. Most patients also saw a reduction in contact lens-related dryness, and nearly all achieved an acceptable lens fit.
