Stanford oncologist and IASLC past president Dr. Heather Wakelee highlighted several trials she expects to reshape clinical practice across both small cell lung cancer (SCLC) and non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
In SCLC, all eyes are on two back-to-back phase 3 trials evaluating ADCs that target B7H3 — a protein increasingly recognized as a key target in small cell disease. The TAISHAN-302 trial tests YL201 plus topotecan vs. topotecan alone in relapsed SCLC, while ARTEMIS-008 compares HS-20093 to standard of care in patients who progressed on first-line platinum-based therapy. In NSCLC, the conference will unveil 8-year overall survival data from the landmark ADAURA trial (osimertinib in resected EGFR-mutant disease) and comparisons in EGFR exon 20 insertion tumors — including IV amivantamab (PAPILLON) and oral zipalertinib (REZILIENT3) in first-line settings.
