Thailand has officially been tapped to host the Third WHO Global Summit on Traditional Medicine, set for Bangkok from November 10–12, 2027. The announcement was confirmed on September 1, 2026, during a handover ceremony in New Delhi, where India formally passed the baton to Thailand following the successful Second Summit. Thailand's selection reflects its recognized leadership in traditional and complementary medicine and its commitment to evidence-informed health policy.
The biennial summit convenes health ministers, policymakers, researchers, and practitioners to strengthen global cooperation on the safe and effective use of traditional medicine. The 2027 gathering will review progress on commitments made at prior summits, spotlight a new global traditional medicine data network rolling out across 12 countries, and showcase digital tools and scientific advances in the field.
