A landmark study published in Nature reveals that COVID-19 doesn't just cause a severe infection on its own — it can also wake up viruses that have been quietly hiding in the body for years. Researchers tracked 1,154 hospitalized COVID-19 patients across 20 U.S. hospitals and found that nearly half (47.9%) had at least one dormant virus reactivate during their illness.
