Swiss pharma giant Roche is making a major move in the blood cancer space, striking a global licensing agreement with Chinese drugmaker Simcere Pharmaceutical for SIM0660 — an experimental therapy targeting B-cell malignancies. B cells are white blood cells responsible for producing antibodies, and their dysregulation is central to several blood cancers.
Under the deal, Roche will gain exclusive worldwide rights to develop, manufacture, and commercialize SIM0660. The drug is currently at the preclinical stage, meaning it has yet to enter human trials. Roche has not disclosed which specific diseases it plans to pursue or provided a timeline for clinical development.
