The program was designed to dramatically expand access to highly sought-after obesity treatments for older Americans, who were previously largely shut out of Medicare coverage for these drugs. Under the Bridge program, eligible seniors can access GLP-1 medications for as little as $50 a month — a steep discount compared to the drugs' typical list prices.
