Research confirms that concurrent training — combining aerobic and resistance exercise — produces superior health outcomes compared to either alone, including improvements in metabolic rate, insulin sensitivity, body composition, muscle strength, and endurance. The feared "interference effect" (the idea that too much of one undermines the other) is largely overblown for the general population, according to exercise scientists.
