SCAN Group and Costco are leveling up their partnership with new co-branded Medicare products — including a Medicare Advantage plan in two states and Medicare supplement coverage in a third. The duo says this is Costco's first "comprehensive partnership" with an MA plan, with more offerings like pharmacy benefits, OTC products, vision, and hearing in the pipeline. The goal: make Medicare shopping simpler and less overwhelming for seniors.
SCAN Group and Costco are taking their partnership to the next level, announcing co-branded Medicare products that include a Medicare Advantage plan available in two states and Medicare supplement coverage in a third. The companies describe this as Costco's first "comprehensive partnership" with an MA plan — and they're just getting started, with plans to expand into pharmacy benefits, over-the-counter products, vision, and hearing coverage over the coming years.
The partnership, which first launched in October 2025 with discounts on medications and vaccinations, is built on a shared philosophy: create value for members, not just for the companies themselves. SCAN CEO Sachin Jain says the key is each partner sticking to what they do best — SCAN handles the healthcare expertise while Costco brings its trusted brand and member loyalty to simplify the notoriously confusing Medicare shopping experience.
Why it matters: Medicare Advantage enrollment decisions are famously complex, and seniors often age into the system without a clear roadmap. By leveraging Costco's brand trust, SCAN is betting that a familiar retailer can lower the barrier to making smart coverage choices — a model that, if successful, could reshape how insurers think about retail partnerships.
